Aging can be harmful to your eyes! I know that the older we all get, the likelihood of losing some eyesight is very high. Well I’m no exception. Recently at the eye doctor, she did a test for dry eye. Yep, I have it. She actually called it a ‘disease’. She says I can’t improve or correct this, that I can only stop or slow the progression.
There are some things that I am doing, that could be helpful for everyone with dry eyes, or with eyes for that matter! Get your daily intake of Omega 3’s. The best source is from fish oil. I know, sounds nasty, but there are some that don’t taste fishy, and some are flavored, both soft gels and liquids. Be sure to get the omega 3’s that include DHA and EPA. These essential fatty acids are supposed to be good for lubricating the eyes, helping to keep them moist. Also using a lubricating eye drop will help with the dryness and irritation. Even wearing sunglasses that are a shield style will help keep the wind and other harmful elements off your eyes. Think about how delicate and crucial your eyes are. Proper eye care and health should become something that we all think more about. Consider taking some of these simple steps and precautions.
There are a whole host of other great benefits believed to come from supplementing your diet with this.
Studies show it to be helpful for the prevention/treatment of these as well!
