I’m sharing my home gym with you here and the best at home workouts!!!
Happy Friday everyone! I’m so glad it’s the weekend! I’m looking forward to catching up at the house, doing some cleaning and working out! I woke up late this morning and looked outside and it’s grey and rainy. I went to go get a coffee and it was freezing outside! On a day like this I feel like just using my workout space at home. I don’t feel like going out to the gym or going to take a class. I’d just like to do a workout at home! Some days you just feel like that. Before I had this work out room, I only had a small space in my bedroom that was about 5×6 feet. I had to make it work if I wanted to do any DVD’s at home. But now I have this amazing room that I’ve just started decorating and it’s my most favorite part of the house. I get so much use out of it and it’s absolutely perfect for me. I had mirrors put up and that was just the icing on the cake. It truly feels like my own personal gym. So I just wanted to share it with you and show you what I do when I work out at home. As you can see, these are just some of the DVDs I’ve used and still use. I have stopped the high impact P90x and Insanity, and now I do mostly yoga, Tracy Anderson and occasionally the Brazil Butt Lift. It’s great to mix it up. You don’t need a strict outline of what days to do what as long as you are doing something and getting a good workout 4-6 times a week.
I currently have an elliptical, weights, a step, a chair, a bar weight, and a mat. Which is plenty for a home gym.
I realize I have chords hanging.. It looks bad but.. It would be nice if I could get someone to tuck those away!
But these mirrors are great! It makes a very big difference in working out when you can see what exactly you are doing and make your movements perfect!
I am a big believer in vision boards and surrounding yourself with positive images that are goals and encourage you to work hard. So I have put up some fitness, maxim and sports illustrated cover shots for motivation to work out hard and remember why you are working so hard. The harder you work, the better you feel, the better you look. I just feel vibrant and lit up when I’m working out and I think you can see that in people. It’s part of our happiness.

The Best Home Workouts:
Now that we are getting into the colder months, it’s just harder for me to want to go out get in the car and go to the gym everyday, or a pure barre class. I’m more apt to go to a hot yoga class and a lot of days I just like to get my workout in at home. We get so busy this time of year and we only lose more the time closer we get to the holidays. If you want to start doing some home work outs I would recommend these three things because they don’t require a lot of space and they are all great work outs and each completely different from the other.
1. Tracey Anderson -Tracy Anderson is my ultimate favorite home work out. If you are limited on space I recommend this DVD. It was one of her first to come and encompasses everything, arms, legs, abs, everything! It focuses on small muscle movements that are design to tone and tighten your body up. All you need for this one is a mat and small weights. 2-3 pounds is all you need. If you aren’t familiar with Tracy Anderson, you can watch this video to get an idea of what her workouts are all about.
2. Yoga Download – I LOVE Yoga Download. If you just visit their website you’ll be amazed at all you can get. Even Yoga for your kids witch my nephew loves. It’s great to not have to order something and wait for it to come, you can decide any day you want to do a new yoga, you get the music, it’s awesome and really great for travel as well. Just check it out to see what it’s all about. Yoga is great to be able to do at home, you can relax, meditate, stretch, release tension from the day and not have to go anywhere. Just take 30 minutes or how ever long you have and improve your day.

So here’s my questions for you,
#1 – Do you work out at home? How often? If you do, what does your space look like that you’ve designated as a work out spot in your home?
#2 – Share with us what your favorite at home work outs are?

I love your workout room, so jealous! I have to admit that I have to get better at working out at home. I go in and out with motivation. My space is small and I don’t have much for equipment. I agree on the first Tracey Anderson DVD. It gets you all over! I have been wanting to try the Brazilian butt lift workout, so now seems like a good time with your recommendation. Your gym looks fabulous!
Thank you so much! I’m so grateful to have such a beautiful space to workout in! Trying to keep the motivation can be challenging. The best thing to do is find the reason you want to workout, need to work out and should work out. Think of your personal specific benefits from working out and that will help the consistency. I can definitely relate to that. Thanks for your share here. A small space is always okay, take advantage of what you have and use it!
I never work out at home – I do yoga 5 times a week and the studio is just a 15 minute walk away
Well that’s perfect! 15 minutes is very convenient!
I love yoga too!
